| Class information CRF offers positive reinforcement training, and we ask that your puppy arrive with a plain buckle collar (no chain or choke collars, please). Our instructors have many years of experience, and are dedicated to promoting the best possible experience for you and your puppy. Although families are strongly encouraged to participate, we request that the primary handler of the puppy be a parent or person |
| OBEDIENCE CLASS Age: 6 months and older This class is designed for the older dog. This class will teach you to understand canine behavior and develop a good relationship between you and your dog while teaching the foundation of Obedience (sit-stay, down-stay, heel, stand-stay, off, leave it, etc.). Dogs in this class are taught to respect the "Alpha" (you) through basic commands and common sense. This respect will build a relationship that will achieve a happy, good working, reliable companion dog. You will learn how to prevent common problems and eliminate existing ones. You will learn about basic nutrition, grooming and health. Hands on practice, demonstrations, and a weekly hand out sheet will help reinforce what was covered in class throughout the week. |

| Puppy Kindergarten (pups 16 weeks to 6 months of age) Get control of your maturing and sometimes overpowering puppy! Topics include teaching your puppy the basic skills necessary to become a well-mannered puppy, how to establish who sets the rules (you), how to communicate with your puppy through voice, body language, and canine language cues. Class format consists of discussion, demonstration, practice of new skills, playtime with other people and pups, and games. This hands-on class will get you and your family engaged in the fun. |
| Puppy Socialization (pups 8 weeks to 18 weeks) You and your puppy will learn the basics, such as come, sit, stay, and off (get away from that). There will be discussion on house training and other basic issues that might crop up during your puppy's early months. This hands-on class includes socializing with unfamiliar humans, puppies, places and play-time activities, so be prepared for you and your family to get involved! |
